Our Grasslands Need Help, and They Can't Wait

At a time when government investment in conservation is unpredictable, philanthropic and corporate support are critical to successful conservation efforts. In the absence of major funding, we are kidding ourselves if we think grasslands will survive another half century.

They will slip into oblivion on our watch. If we want to make a difference then the time to act is NOW.

SGI requires core funding to support our operation as well as regional funding to support on-the-ground projects.

Successful grassland conservation on a meaningful scale will require: 

• unparalleled long-term financial commitment from philanthropic and corporate sponsorship

• funding from government grants and contracts

• support at local, regional, state, and national levels

• investments in organizational infrastructure, programming, and general operating costs.
